The second is a way to smoke it more discreetly. Accessories like single-shot pipes, mini-pipes, and joints were once the easiest / discreet methods of smoking. However, the future is already here and it brings us many positive sides. One of them is the invention of the vape pen.
But what exactly is a vape pen? Put simply, it’s an ultra-portable vaporizer that brings all the benefits of a standard vaporizer in the form of a compact pen-shaped device. Beyond the fact that pen vapes are potentially better for your health than smoking, these devices are easy to use, produce a discreet smelling vapor, and can be taken with you on the go. In short: No matter what your reason for using cannabis is, there is a vape pen to suit your needs.

Let’s talk about the basics: pen vapes are fairly simple devices. The only two parts that concern you are the heating element and the compartment that houses your cannabis. This can be a dry herb compartment, a disposable concentrate cartridge, or the like.
Either way, the heating element will bring your cannabis to a cooking temperature of 150–230 ° C. With temperatures this low, active substances like THC, CBD, and terpenes turn into a vapor that you can inhale, just like with any other vaporizer.
The Different Types Of Vapor Pen
There are now many different types of vapes. You will need to familiarize yourself with dry herb vaporizers, concentrate vaporizers, and hybrid vaporizers. No matter the technical sophistication, you should be able to see the difference just with the name. Dry herb vaporizers are, of course, used for vaping the good old weed of cannabis. Concentrate vaporizers, on the other hand, are designed to work with cannabis concentrates, which may vary in physical consistency. Finally, hybrid vaporizers are designed to work with flowers or concentrates.

It is in their anatomy that one can notice the most important distinctions between these pens. They are not that different, however.
With most pens, the battery is the largest part, which serves as the body. These batteries are generally of the lithium-ion type and are either rechargeable or replaceable. Vapes also have a mouthpiece, which you will use to inhale the cannabis product of your choice. This product is vaporized by the heating element. Many devices have a button to activate this heating element, while others have no button and can detect when you inhale.
Other pens, however, do not use electricity from a battery. They rely on rather on the power of the flame of your lighter. They are as a result much cheaper and have the advantage of not having to be recharged. However, you cannot control the temperature to which your weed heats up and it could burn at a slightly hotter temperature due to the flame. The difference is not that huge, however, and flame vapes are still a good option.

The most important component then is the compartment. With the dry herbs, you have a compartment in the pen and you just have to fill it and refill it as you go. With concentrate vapes, you typically buy separate disposable cartridges, which you throw away and replace when empty. Some have permanent compartments that you can load with wax-like concentrates, but these are rarer. Now on to the fun side. First and foremost, make sure you read the instructions for your vape carefully. We’re not stupid, that’s for sure, but the makers of your vape pen know it better than anyone. Our instructions do not apply to this type of vape in general and not to a specific vape.

The first thing to do when you unpack your vape pen is to charge it. Make yourself a coffee, or go for a walk, as the very first charge of a new vape can take a while.
Conclusion
Once your vape pen is charged (an LED can tell you when it is), fill it with a cartridge. This could be the compartment you place your weed or wax-like concentrate in or a disposable cartridge that you screw on and smoke. Once your cartridge or compartment is loaded, assemble the vape.
